Visit to Haldighati, Kumbalgarh Fort, Ranakpur Jain Temples on 12-Dec-2016

After spending two days in Nathdwara and started return journey to Navapur and Thane. Ankit and Priyanka suddenly changed the route to head towards the Haldighati, Kumbhalgarh and Ranakpur Temple. All the three places where scenic and historical.

Kumbhalgarh Fort is a Mewar fortress on the range of Aravalli Hills and it is a World Heritage Site. Built during the course of the 15th century by Rana Kumbha. With the walls of the fort extending over 38 km, it is claimed to be the second-longest continuous wall after the Great Wall of China.

Haldighati always remembered for bravery of Rana Pratap and his horse Chetak who carried wounded Rana Pratap to a safe place. The Battle of Haldighati was a battle fought on 18 June 1576 between cavalry and archers supporting the Rana of MewarMaharana Pratap; and the Mughal emperor Akbar‘s forces, led by Man Singh I of Amber

Ranakpur Temple is one of the largest and most important temples of Jain culture. Visited this temple for about one hour which was very short time due to limited time available.
