Visit to the Lake District in August-1999

Visited the Lake District (also known Lakeland as) with Priyanka, Sadhana and Mr. Rasik & Mrs. Dasgupta by a Vauxhall automatic car. My first car drive outside India. Fantastic nature, green lush lanscapes. Windermere, UK. Birthplace of Willams Wordsworth. No wonder the great poetry of Wordsworth got written in surroundings of Windermere. It was one full day tour from Warrington to Windermere.

Very scenic place and enjoyed every moment of the visit. Windermere is the largest natural lake in England. Windermere Lake is Ribbon Rake and is UK’s most popular place for holidays. Cruising in the lake in a big boat was really great with green lush forests on both the banks of the lake was really great.

The Lake District National Park was established in 1951 and covers an area of 2,362 square kilometres. The Lake District has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site

One of the best tours of my life … !!!
